It is Accreditation Month at IABC – the best time to apply for accreditation, IABCs globally-recognized professional credential program. Anyone who applies between October 1 and November 15 will receive a US$20 gift certificate to the IABC Knowledge Centre and be entered in a drawing for special prizes selected to enhance the path to accreditation.

Jennifer Wah, ABC, MC, is Chair of the Accreditation Committee. In this Cafe2Go interview, she succinctly explains what IABC accreditation actually is and what some of the benefits are in becoming an Accredited Business Communicator. Jennifer outlines the steps towards becoming accredited and how you can know if you are ready and eligible to get accredited.

She talks through the Accreditation Month promotion and explains the resources IABC offers members going through the accreditation process including the Accreditation Coach program and online resources such as the accreditation quiz, sample exams and tweetchat scheduled for October 12 at 9am PDT (use the hashtag #IABCaccreditation).

Jennifer Wah, ABC, MC, is a professional storyteller. For the past 24 years, she has consulted to, found the stories within, and won numerous awards for, clients including the University of British Columbia, Vancity and TransCanada. Her company, Forwords Communication Inc., is based in Vancouver, Canada.

In 2009 she was recognized with IABC Canada’s highest honour, the Master Communicator designation.

Jennifer has been involved with IABC for 24 years, in chapter, regional and international leadership roles, including previously serving on the International Executive Board from 2001-2003. Jennifer became accredited in 1997, founded the Accreditation Completion Program model used in chapters around the world, and is currently serving as chair of the IABC Accreditation Committee.
