In the final 2012 Gold Quill Best of the Best series we talk with award winner Anna Larson. Anna’s winning entry, “A Farewell to Featherwagons” focuses on the importance of story in environmental change — specifically, the publication and launch of a children’s picture book, A Farewell to Featherwagons. The Halton Region Health Department (HRHD) self-published the book as part of an education and awareness-raising program designed to educate children ages four to eight (and their parents) about the links between air quality and human health and the actions they can take to improve air quality.
